My First Colour Pop Experience…sort of!

Howdy! Wow, I am one busy lady, so I am so sorry that I did not get a blog completed last week. It made me so very sad, but I am ready to conquer today! As many of you know I recently did a giveaway of Colour Pop! When I first ordered Colour Pop for myself I was so excited I had to film it! I may have filmed this a while back…and just didn’t feel like editing it. That may be exactly what happened! My camera may  have also “freaked out” and then I may have deleted part of my video, which meant re-filming. What I am saying is this was a frustrating and FUN project all at once.

Check out the products I bought and what I thought of them! Have you tried any of these? What did you think? XoXo

Full Too Faced Eye Look + Colour Pop Lip!

Hi Everyone! I just wanted to share that I am about to start a new journey. I recently got another job so I will be extra (extra) busy. Sadly, that means my blogging will be put on the back burner…and so will my channel. I am going to try my hardest to do one blog and video a week. If I can do more than that is so awesome, but we will see!

Okay, now to the fun part. I wanted to share with you a one brand eye tutorial!

I call this The Iridescent Eye because the way the colors blend into each other give the effect of an iridescent design. The paired lip is Frida by Colour Pop, which I am  big fan of. This is a great color to pair with just about any look. For tutorial look below!photoThis entire eye was created using my Too Faced Sugar Pop Palette.

1. Use Too Faced Shadow Insurance Primer..(or any primer.) I always recommend a primer!

2. On the lid apply a heavy coat of Blue Raspberry. If you use a slight patting motion it will pack on the pigment.

3. Using a small angled brush use Bubble Gum to coat the crease and outer corner of the eye. Again using a slight patting motion you can pack on the pigment. You will see thess two colors will beautifully mix into their own shade of purple (SO COOL).

4. Using the same small angled brush take Malted Milk Ball and create a V shape from the top of the upper lash line to just above the crease. This gives a more dimensional look to your eye, while transitioning the colors. You can then use that same brush and color to line your lower lashes. I had the lower lash line blend into the rest of the look to create a bolder more unified appearance.

5. To finish the look take Rock Candy with a soft fluffy brush and softly blend it on top of the colors starting at the bottom. This is going to soften the colors, melt them together, and highlight under your brow!

This look was truly simple and once you play with it I know you can get it right. A fun little addition would be to add your lightest and shimmery color just under your brow. This would really make this style pop!

I hope you enjoyed this look! Also DO NOT FORGET my giveaway ends this Friday! Check out my last blog for details! XoXo

New Headbands, $1 each!

I love a good deal! In Branson, MO at The Landing shopping area, there was an accessories store where most items were $1.00. Amazing! I love headbands because you can make it look like you tried harder, even if you didn’t. It can take a crappy hair day and turn it into a good one. I couldn’t decided on one headband, so I got three. It is okay since they were so cheap! This is one of the few times being indecisive worked out well.

I picked three similar styles in three different colors. I liked these, because they were a lace pattern. I love feminine styles and that is exactly what lace is! The colors also gave them an antique or retro feel, which I am a sucker for! I am wearing the pink one today and I am impressed. A lot of headbands give me an annoying headache and so far I haven’t had a problem! Yay! Do you guys like headbands?

Mary Kay Nourishine Plus Lip Gloss Swatches!

Hi! A friend of mine gave me a sample pack of mini Nourishine Plus Lip Glosses! Thank you so much, Linda! I am very much a fan of these. I am sort of hesitant to buy cosmetics that I cannot try on like I do at Sephora or Ulta. I must say I am so glad she let me try these, because they are awesome.

I would say that these lip glosses fall under a medium pigment range, high shine, not sticky, and smooth perfection. They are $15 for .15, which doesn’t seem like a lot of product, but they last a really long time. I have had these mini’s since January and they still haven’t run out. The mini’s are .01 oz, so that tells you how a little of this product goes a long way!

Here are my swatches! If you are interested in these lip glosses click here!

Pretty in Pink!

photo 2 (11)

Lately I have been feeling more playful with my eye looks! I usually stick to a more neutral color palette on a daily basis, but not now! Over the last few days I have decided to be bold with my color choice! Why not?! Yesterday, I decided to be Pretty in Pink! I will say I am quite partial to this choice since pink is by far my favorite color! This look was also created with my Too Faced Sugar Pop Palette.

Here is my how to: First start with a good coat of an eye primer. I am currently using Ulta’s brand eye primer and it works well, especially since it is only $10. Next, I start at the inner corner and work my way out. In order, my color choices were Strawberry Ice, Bubblegum, and then ending with Blackberry. To finish the look I lined my lower lashes with Strawberry Ice, Bubblegum, and Blackberry. Again, this was starting with lightest color at the corner and working my way out. One of my tips is to take a bare brush and soften the outer edge of the finished look. This make your look appear softer and more polished.

Ipsy vs Birchbox – May 2015

Hi Readers and Friends! I am so excited about this month’s Ipsy and Birchbox!! I swear they just keep getting better and better! I really love being able to help you decide which one or both you would like to receive! If you receive either of these let me know your thoughts. If you are still unsure ask me any questions you have! I will be glad to answer.  I love hearing from you guys!! I am going to try to style this blog a little differently. We will see if I stick with it or switch back..only time will tell. Here it goes!

This is the entire package in one picture. The bag was so cute this month. At first I wasn’t crazy about the bags, but these last two months have been adorable!
photo 1 (10)
I would consider this a full size product! That is one so far for the month! It is a pretty brown matte shade.
photo 2 (7)
I am not crazy about hair products, because honestly I suck at doing my hair, but I am always willing to try new things!
photo 3 (7)
Full size number two! Yay! I will say I struggle with fake lashes so I guess I don’t have a reason not to improve.
photo 4 (6)
I am CRAZY about this one! It is a lip tint and I am OBSESSED with the color! It is so pretty, it lasts, and it is full size…or at least I would consider it full size. That makes three full size for the month!
photo 5 (3)
I have seen it Cosmetics several times, but never took the plunge. I was happy to get a chance to try this brand. I am very pleased so far…plus it has SPF (check out my last blog- shameless plug!).

photo 3 (10)
This was the packaging. You can see the corner of the top of the box. I am sorry I didn’t get a better picture of the lid. The box was cute and I still like the box for looks. I still am not sure what I would use them for, but they are cute!. I will say this month I did not get a card with info on the products…that was a little disappointing. That is something I really appreciated that Ipsy doesn’t do. Instead, it had info about the author of Cupcakes and Cashmere that included a discount code. I would really rather have the product info.
photo 4 (7)
This is a colored lip balm in a hot pink shade, but it goes on very sheer. I think it has a really chic appeal with the packaging! I would say this is full size number one for the month!
photo 5 (4)
I already like benefit, so I was glad to receive a sample of their product. It was especially nice since I had never tried this before. The jar inside is so cute and classic looking. Again, sorry I should have taken a pic of it! The packaging makes getting a sample size seem extra special!
photo 4 (8)
I got to choose this sample, which I enjoy getting to do each month! The only time it stinks is when too many have picked and they are out of some samples. It is nice though to have some say over the month’s box!
photo 3 (9)
Part of me wants to say, “another Whish product..” but honestly they haven’t disappointed yet. I do seem to get one every time, but so far I have liked their products. I just hope that doesn’t happen every month because I really don’t want repeats. This is a cost effective way for me to experiment!
photo 3 (8)
This is a sample sized hair care item. Like I said before, I don’t love hair items, but at the same time it forces me to try something new and hopefully improve. I will say I wasn’t impressed with the packaging of this product. It seems cheaply thrown together.

Okay, so after examining each product on face value, because I haven’t tried all of them yet. I would say Ipsy is the winner in my book this month. I mean three full size products in one bag! It makes me want to use five exclamation points! I will say I look forward to both subscriptions and have so much fun trying new items at such a low cost. Talk soon! Xoxo
